Health & Nutrition
Health and nutrition is important aspect of every child to grow, but unfortunately our child mortality rate is high. More than 40% children are malnourished or stunted, especially in rural area. Poverty, malnutrition and poor sanitation are major problems for many Indians and are a major contributor to child mortality.
We have started working in rural and urban areas especially in disadvantage communities where newborn baby and mothers are facing this kind of issues. We have launched many campaigns for betterment of children.
Food gives us energy to promote and maintain mental and physical health. Therefore food should supply necessary nutrition in sufficient amounts to meet the body’s needs. A proper nutrition helps us to fight with diseases, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases.
Babies should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life to achieve optimum growth and development. After six months, adequate and safe complementary foods should be introduced while continuing breastfeeding. Complementary foods should be rich in nutrients.
